An extraordinary celebration in honor of the Servant of God Maria Esperanza Medrano Bianchini

“Tend my sheep,” with these words Our Lord addressed the Apostle Saint Peter, making his mission clear and that of the Church. As a committed faithful laywoman, the Servant of God Maria Esperanza Medrano Bianchini responded to this call with her life. Always assisted by her Spiritual Director and under the wing of the Catholic Church, she strove to be a living example of the Gospel, guiding and caring for those whom God brought to her path, driving them closer to the Word of God and always available to help those in need. Her life as a wife, mother and grandmother made her a tireless witness to the love of Christ, and turned her home into a living example of what a domestic Church is.

On Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the Sanctuary Our Lady of the Candles – Dr. Jose Gregorio Hernandez, Rev. Fr. Juan Carlos Silva celebrated Mass on the eve of her 96th birthday, recalling the spiritual and human legacy of this extraordinary woman. And on the following day, November 22, the Betania Choir premiered the musical “Christmas and the Servant of God Maria Esperanza” at El Hatillo Amphitheater, to honor her life and work.

This extraordinary celebration was a wonderful opportunity to remember and honor a Venezuelan woman who, full of faith and love, lived and preached the truth of the Gospel with firmness and devotion. Happy birthday, beloved Servant of God Maria Esperanza!
