Our Lady Reconciler of All Peoples, Our Lady of Betania, accompanies the process of canonization of Blessed Jose Gregorio Hernandez

Members of the Betania Foundation, now Public Association of the Faithful Betania Spirituality Movement, were honored to have had the opportunity of giving support to the process of canonization of Blessed Jose Gregorio Hernandez, by traveling to Miami to accompany Father Gerardino Barracchini, Episcopal Vicar for Holiness and Rector of Our Lady of the Candles – Dr. Jose Gregorio Hernandez Sanctuary. Their responsibility was to participate in the tribunal as Notaries and Medical Expert during the process that made it possible to send to the Vatican the acts of an alleged miracle that occurred in the state of Florida, USA, attributed to the intercession of Blessed Dr. Jose Gregorio Hernandez, hoping to achieve his canonization, as announced by the Archbishop of Miami, His Excellency Thomas Wenski, on June 17, 2022.

His Eminence Cardinal Baltazar Porras honored the headquarters of Betania II with his presence

Months before, on April 28, 2022, His Eminence Cardinal Baltazar Porras traveled to the USA with a first-degree relic of Blessed Jose Gregorio Hernandez, with the intention of spreading his devotion. On the Cardinal’s tour through New York, Washington D.C., Massachusetts and Florida, the Betania II Community in Medway, Massachusetts had the immense honor of hosting him in their headquarters, as well as Father Alejandro Keri of the Archdiocese of Caracas and Mrs. Carlota Blanco Uribe, who accompanied the Cardinal from Venezuela.

Mrs. Maria Esperanza Bianchini Foley and Mr. James Foley, leaders of this community, accompanied the delegation to the meeting held on April 29 at Harvard Kennedy School and at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church in Cambridge, and on April 30 at the Mass in St. Paul’s Cathedral in Worcester.

Additionally, it was a source of great joy for the Betania Spirituality Movement that on Sunday, April 24, members of the Betania Communities I and III spoke briefly with His Eminence after the Holy Eucharist celebrated at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. On May 1 and 2, members of the Betania Community V participated at the Masses presided over by Cardinal Baltazar Porras at St. Katharine Drexel Church in Weston and St. Hugh Church in Coconut Grove, Miami, FL, to offer him a warm greeting.
