Caracas, January 6, 2025 – On the occasion of the feast of the Epiphany, the feast of the Wise Men, the Archbishop of Caracas, H.E. Bishop Raul Biord, began the Jubilee of Hope, with the opening of the Holy Door and the Mass of Hope, in the Cathedral of Caracas.
A temple filled with faithful participated in the ceremony, including members of the Betania Spirituality Movement (BSM), led by its President Maria Coromoto Bianchini and her husband Carlos Marrero.
In his homily, the Archbishop highlighted that “the statue of the Nazarene of St. Paul will be the first missionary of hope” and will visit the 11 areas of the archdiocese. He also shared Pope Francis’ recent message: “‘When fishermen approach the shore, they cast the anchor. The anchor fixed, the hand on the rope and the open doors are the symbol of the Jubilee.’ May the opening of this Jubilee Year be an invitation to look to the future, with hope and to commit ourselves to building it with concrete gestures: a smile, a gesture of friendship, a fraternal gaze, a sincere listening, a free service, charity, a step forward. Let us flood Venezuela with hope!”
Inspired by this message, which evokes the teachings of the Servant of God Maria Esperanza Bianchini, after the Mass of Hope, the representation of the BSM made a pilgrimage to St. Francis Church, a place full of history and faith, renewing their commitment to spread reconciliation and unity, as a light of hope for families and society.
