On January 31st, 2020, the opening of the cause of canonization of the messenger of Our Lady of Betania, the Servant of God Maria Esperanza Medrano Bianchini, was recalled with a Mass at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Lomas de La Lagunita, in Caracas. Father Juan Carlos Silva, from Santa Rosalia Parish in Caracas, said during his homily: “Today we are remembering the Servant of God Maria Esperanza Bianchini. She frequently taught in the simple things of each day, in a small sharing, in an embrace, in a caress, in a word of hope. People changed their lives, because the kingdom of God was there, because Christ was there. You know that I am telling the truth because you saw it better than I. You are seeing that the kingdom of God does exist and will work wonders, where people respond with humility and faith.”
At the end of the Eucharist, which was accompanied by the music of the Betania Choir, two of the daughters of the Servant of God Maria Esperanza addressed the large group gathered in the chapel. Mrs. Maria Gracia Bianchini Gebran stated: “She truly taught us so many wonderful things, she shared so much love with each one of us here. To talk about her, about her love, about her charity, about her giving up so many things for others, not for herself, that is the example that we need.” For her part, Mrs. Maria Coromoto Bianchini Marrero invited to imitate her mother’s virtues “of hope, humility and unconditional love to her neighbor and the Church”.
Then, they gathered together in the residence of the Burgos family to celebrate the gift of the opening of the cause of canonization, of who has been the spiritual mother and example of life for all the members of the Betania Foundation and those who met her.
